So much more than a jukebox musical celebration of The Dubliners, the show stars its charismatic writer and director Ged Graham, whose narration warmly guides the audience through the fascinating life of the group in between stunning performances of so many of their celebrated classics, including The Irish Rover, The Leaving of Liverpool, Belle of Belfast City, Dirty Old Town, The Banks of the Rose, Star of the County Down and The Town I Love So Well.

One of Canada's most influential guitarists and musicians, J.P. Cormier has had a wild and exciting career. He put out his first lead album, Another Morning, in 1997 which was Juno-nominated and an ECMA-winner. Since then, Cormier's career has continued to flourish. Sixteen albums followed the success of Another Morning, winning 12 more ECMAs, another Juno nomination, a Canadian Folk Music Award and 5 Music Nova Scotia Awards. Each album was a snapshot of each thing that he can do. There are fiddle albums, mandolin, banjo, guitar, tribute records, songwriting collections, a purely astounding spectrum of talent and musical vision. Arguably one of the best guitar players in the business today? Someone who crosses between different instruments like there are no lines? J.P. This musical tribute will guide you through new and familiar storyscapes, from the scheming monarchies in Howl’s Moving Castle to Spirited Away’s mystical spirit world. Come experience a live orchestra bring two of Hayao Miyazaki’s most beloved films to life—films that taught a generation how to be brave, how to hope, how to dream, and encouraged us all to never lose our youthful wonder.

To wrap up this Ghibli offering, we will perform a specially commissioned piece combining Hisaishi’s evocative scores from all 13 Studio Ghibli films.

Kick off the New Year early with The FunKeys! Join us for an evening filled with energetic music, dancing, and a fantastic atmosphere as we welcome 2025 a little sooner.

В этом году исполнилось 90 лет со дня рождения Юрия Визбора, имя которого стало символом эпохи, творческой свободы и походной романтики. Поэт – шестидесятник, бард, артист, режиссер, бесстрашный альпинист. Он был талантлив во всем. А песни с особой интонацией и особым смыслом, исполняли повсюду: у костра, на кухне, на скамейках во дворе. Мелодии и слова, которые вне моды и времени.

Юрий Визбор всегда писал о том, что близко и знакомо каждому. Именно в этом секрет любви к нему, который не уменьшается с годами.

Давайте же «наполним музыкой сердца и устроим праздники из буден», вспомнив о замечательном барде в Оттавском университете, где споём вместе душевные песни Юрия Визбора.
