Canadian Improv Games is a national nonprofit that, through teaching the skills of improvisation, spotlights the uniqueness of Canadian youth. Since 1977, Ottawa schools have stepped on stage with nothing but their wits and energy to guide them, and based on suggestions from the audience, they create amazing improvised scenes!

The semi-finals take place from April 16-18, with the exciting Finals taking place April 19!

​It’s Saturday Night Fever every night with The Australian Bee Gees Show – A Tribute to the Bee Gees. One of the most successful and adored acts in musical history is recreated live in concert. Just For Laughs is back on the road with some of the funniest comedians around! The 20th edition of the Just For Laughs Road Show will bring four hilarious comics to Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe for an evening of belly laughs and busted guts.

About Propeller Dance

Propeller Dance specialize in contemporary inclusive dance where dance artists of diverse minds and bodies create new dance and performance, drawing on various established techniques within the improvisation, theatre, and contemporary dance genres. The goals are to discover, uncover, showcase, and highlight the beauty and power of dancers of all abilities working together. They define virtuosity as the ability to move an audience, through presence, connection, human spirit, as well as physicality. Disability is understood as a difference in human experience rather than a limitation or something to overcome.

Alan Cumming (Cabaret, The Good Wife) and Ari Shapiro (NPR’s All Things Considered, Pink Martini) both transport audiences to other worlds through their stories.  Now, they’re joining forces in SONG. 

Witness the critically acclaimed evening of tunes and tall tales titled “Och & Oy! A Considered Cabaret”. Musical direction by Henry Koperski.

When talking about this exciting collaboration, Cumming said, “I’ve got to know Ari over the last few years, both socially and when he interviewed me for a couple of events. The last time was an evening in D.C., and by the end of it I realized our chemistry and the unusual combo of us, as well as the fact that Ari has an amazing voice, would make for a really great cabaret show.  And kapow! We’re doing it! What I love most is it’s fresh and ever-changing.”
 
Shapiro added, “When Alan first suggested that we create a show together, I didn't quite believe him. Then as we started to dig into this collaboration, I realized how much our professional lives actually complement each other. We’re both storytellers who try to help audiences better understand themselves and the world around them. This show lets us explore those shared ideals on stage together, through stories and songs.”

Jim Henson’s musical, fun-loving Fraggles are dancing their cares away and into Ottawa in "Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock LIVE", the first-ever live touring show based on The Jim Henson Company’s beloved franchise and the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ original series.

When Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley and Boober Fraggle discover a legend about a long lost Fraggle treasure called the Celebration Stone, they embark on an adventure to find it and end up celebrating the greatest treasure of all – something much more special than they could have ever imagined!

Featuring gorgeous new walk-around versions of the Fraggles, puppet sized and mechanized Doozers, an appearance from the giant Gorgs, and exclusive new wondrous puppet creatures all from the acclaimed Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, along with fan-favorite songs and exciting visual effects, this all-new musical stage adventure will welcome audiences into the incredible world of the iconic and beloved Fraggle Rock in a whole new way! 
 
Written and directed by John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical, Stephen Schwartz’s The Secret Silk) the first-ever live show will include fantastic in-theater immersive special effects, audience interactivity, magical heartwarming moments, hilarious and endearing new characters, and much more to make this unforgettable theater experience perfect for families with young first-time theater goers, and for Fraggle Rock fans who remain young at heart.
