Music Classes at the Matryoshka Children’s Centre

Music education is an important part of a child’s well-rounded development. At the Matryoshka Children’s Centre, we place great emphasis on music classes because they help children not only discover the world of sounds, but also support the development of speech, memory, attention, coordination, and emotional intelligence.

Why is music so important for a child’s brain development?

Music is a sensory experience. When a child listens to music, both hemispheres of the brain are actively engaged. This is a unique feature: unlike speech and mathematics, which primarily involve the left hemisphere, music also activates the right hemisphere, which is responsible for emotions, imagination, and intuition.

Building Neural Connections

Music classes help create new neural connections. This is especially important during the preschool years, when the brain is particularly receptive to learning.

Helping Prevent Learning Difficulties

Neuropsychologists believe that regular music lessons can help children overcome difficulties with reading, writing, and arithmetic at school because music develops auditory perception, a sense of rhythm, and attention.

Structure of Music Classes

Classes are organized in an engaging and playful format. Depending on the age group, children learn and practice:

• Developing musical hearing and a sense of rhythm
• Singing and vocal exercises
• Active musical games
• Dance and choreography
• Playing simple musical instruments, including percussion and sound-making instruments
• Learning about musical genres, styles, and instruments
• Listening to musical works, from children’s songs to classical music

Music becomes an integral part of a child’s daily life: it accompanies morning routines, walks, creative activities, and celebrations.

Concert Life of Our Young Performers

Concerts at the Matryoshka Children’s Centre are always a celebration, a special event, and the result of the shared efforts of children, teachers, and parents. Performances become an important stage in children’s personal development and give parents a wonderful reason to be proud of their children’s achievements.

A Word from the Music Director

“Music helps every child open up and express themselves. Some children become more confident, others become more attentive, while others discover the joy of singing or dancing. We strive to create an atmosphere in which every child can feel that they are talented.

I have been working as a music director for more than 20 years, and every day I see how music can transform a child, awaken curiosity and creativity, and build self-confidence.”
